a. Account & contact information

When you sign up or are invited to MortemCare, we collect:

• Role or staff information (when invited as staff).

b. Deceased records

Funeral homes may upload and manage information related to deceased individuals. This may include:

• Name, gender, date of birth/death.
• Property or belongings.
• Date of admission and release.
• Related services, storage duration, and case notes.

Note: Funeral homes are the data controllers for deceased records. MortemCare acts as a processor, providing storage and tools on their behalf.

c. Financial information

When payments are made or received through MortemCare, we collect:

• Billing and subscription details.
• Payment method information (processed via Paystack or other payment processors).
• Transaction history related to invoices and subscriptions.

d. Usage & technical data

We automatically collect limited data to improve and secure the service, including:

• Browser type, device information, and IP address.
• Log data and actions taken within the platform.
• Cookies and analytics data (we use Google Analytics and similar services).

• Provide, manage, and improve MortemCare services.

All third-party processors are selected for their security practices and contractual obligations to protect your data.

We retain user and business information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Deceased records uploaded by a funeral home are retained under that funeral home’s control and can be deleted upon request or account termination.
